Fengxian Temple: The largest and most famous site, featuring the massive 17-meter tall statue of Vairocana Buddha, rumored to be modeled after Empress Wu Zetian.
Wan-fo-tung (Ten Thousand Buddha Cave): Contains over 15,000 tiny Buddha carvings, showcasing incredible miniature detail.
Guyang Cave: The oldest cave in the complex, featuring intricate calligraphy known as the "Twenty Items of Longmen."
Night Illumination: The grottoes are beautifully lit at night, offering a completely different perspective reflected in the Yi River.
The Longmen Grottoes represent the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist art. Spanning over 1 kilometer along the Yi River, this site contains tens of thousands of statues carved into limestone cliffs, dating back to the Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties (493–1127 AD).
